Rogers Park gets a LEED Silver building
Cleaning out the Yo inbox is like digging in between sofa cushions — all sorts of goodies can go about beneath the cracks. Take, for example, the announcement from break of dawn March about The Morgan at Loyola Station apartment complex becoming Rogers Store’s first LEED Silver development.
The mixed-use complex, located at 1209 W Arthur Ave, owes the certification to its unripened roof and “amenity garden,” national and drought-resistant plants in the surrounding landscaping, low VOC paints and carpeting, locally produced and recycled materials, bicycle storage, and I-GO Car Sharing spaces, according to a smooth release from McCaffery Interests.
McCaffery and Loyola University developed the The Morgan in 2009. Along with its 152 apartments (94% of which are currently leased), the construction features 33,000 square feet of retail stretch and 205 parking spaces.
Apartments are nearby from $1,350 to $2,465 a month.
